Food Boxes
Food boxes are central to our work in providing essential support to families in need. Each month, our volunteers hand-pack boxes filled with shelf-stable groceries. These boxes are distributed to more than 400 CalWORKS families throughout the year. The program operates to help address ongoing food needs in our community, including bulk food and essentials for distribution at CalWORKS for individuals who cannot take boxes, such as homeless populations. Through this effort, we come together to care for our neighbors.

Sunshine Boxes
These monthly boxes provide supplemental weekend food support for more than 500 students identified by the Pittsburg Unified School District. Each box contains healthy selections, such as pasta, chili, fruit, chicken, oatmeal packets, and soup mix. Bulk food is also provided during holidays and summer vacations. This program helps ensure students have access to food beyond the school week.

Elementary School Uniforms
We serve students across 13 schools in the Mount Diablo and Pittsburg Unified School Districts. Participating students receive complete school uniforms, including two pairs of pants, three shirts, one sweatshirt, one pack of socks, one pack of underwear, and new shoes. By ensuring children arrive at school fully prepared and in proper attire, we support access to a consistent and equitable educational environment.

Retail Shopping
Our retail shopping program provides $140 each for students attending non-uniform schools. As part of the program, adult care givers and students shop together in a structured retail setting, allowing students to select everyday wear for the school year. This year, more than 470 elementary students participated. The program serves families across 16 schools in the Mount Diablo, Walnut Creek, and Martinez Unified School Districts.

Common Threads
This program delivers new clothing to unhoused and vulnerable high school students identified by the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, Oakley Union, and Martinez Unified School District. By responding quickly to urgent needs, Common Threads helps ensure students have appropriate attire for school.
